FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FOR REIKI

WHAT IS REIKI
Reiki is a form of a complimentary health practice that has been found to enhance the body's ability to heal its self.  It is a system that is intent driven where the practitioner allows the life force energy to help alleviate and dissipate energy blockages that may cause imbalances in the body.    Prana Reiki brings in the practices of the breath and Ayurveda to further enhance the healing process.

TREATMENT
Stresses, trauma and illnesses whether physical or mental affect the natural flow of ki (chi) or the 'life force energy' through our bodies. By restoring this flow, Reiki rejuvenates the body's ability to relax and support the body's own ability to heal itself.  For some, one session may be adequate but multiple sessions may be required for long term imbalances in the body and mind to reach the level of relaxation necessary to bring the system back into balance.  Commitment on the clients part such as willingness to make lifestyle changes (Ayurveda offers a great tool for this) in order to fully benefit from Reiki.

WHAT HAPPENS IN A REIKI SESSION
During a Reiki session, the client is asked to lie down on a massage table. The client is fully clothed during the session.  The majority of the session will involve your Reiki practitioner holing his or hands about 2 to 3 inches above the clients body or may sometimes lightly touch your forehead.   Once a session  begins, your practitioner allows the life force energy to flow through his or her hands.  This is often experienced by the client as heat, coolness, vibrating, tingling, light pressure or nothing at all.  Your practitioner may also use other hands-off techniques such as sweeping the body of unneeded energy or using vocal chants to break up the energy blocks.

Your practitioner is simply a channel for the life force energy and the client has to be in the spiritual mode of wanting to receive that energy
